Lead Pastor
Heath Caddell is the planting pastor of Reach. He and his family moved to the Leland area in early 2012 and planted Reach on September 23rd of that same year. Heath spent nine years as youth pastor at Grace Church in Southern Pines before moving to plant Reach. Heath loves the city God has called him to and looks forward to spending the rest of his life loving and serving this city. Heath got married to his college sweetheart Jodi in February of 1998, and they have three children; Lydia, Noah, and Allie.
Worship Ministry Director
Jackson Nethercutt: Jackson is originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and spent a year in Salt Lake City, Utah, working with a college ministry before joining Reach in 2024. Jackson has a heart for loving and caring for others and a deep passion for worship and the ways that God works through music and the Christian community. In his free time, Jackson loves playing basketball and tennis, being outdoors (especially at the beach!), and playing all kinds of music. He would love to get to know you better, so please strike up a conversation with him next time you see him, especially if it’s about sports, music, your pets, or Jesus!
Reach Kids Director
Ashley Danko: Troy and Ashley moved from Pennsylvania to Leland in 2003. Shortly after moving to the area, they opened Coastal Day School, and have loved getting to know many families in the community over the years! Ashley has worked with children her entire life and is honored to get to spend her Sundays with the kiddos at Reach. Troy and Ashley have three children and a very spoiled pup! In their free time they enjoy hosting gatherings with friends, traveling, and being active.”

Greg Bradshaw & wife Rebecca: The Bradshaws may be known for having 6 kids or having large gatherings; whether it is a family celebration, pool party or cookout because family and friends are both priorities. Being active in church their entire married life, Greg and Rebecca have seen the impact and importance of authentic Christian community and welcome opportunities to connect with others. Greg currently oversees the Community Groups of Reach, while Rebecca is on the greeting team. Greg and Rebecca have a heart for healthy married relationships and are involved with WinShape ministries as host couples for marriage adventures. Please be sure to introduce yourself to one of the Bradshaw’s and let’s plan on grabbing a cup of coffee together so we can learn just how much we have in common.
Church Elders
Crist Hamilton & wife Eileen: The Hamiltons moved with the original group of ‘church planters’ to Leland and love being used wherever the Lord leads. Through the years, their hearts have been with missions and they have traveled and lived in China and Nigeria as well as short term mission trips to many parts of Mexico. They have been married 52 years and have four children and eighteen grandchildren – many scattered throughout the Midwest. Some of their passions are leading Experiencing God small groups, prayer, and traveling.
Don Bernard & wife Kathy: The Bernards have been members of Reach Community Church since 2016. From their passion and heart for prayer, the Bernards lead the prayer ministry, as well as host the monthly Reach “community” prayer meeting. Together, they also lead a community group and serve as greeters. While Don heads up the men’s ministry, Kathy serves in the children’s ministry known as reach kids. Don and Kathy were high school sweethearts that lead to nuptials in 1973. Having spent most of their life in Ohio, a job changed moved the Bernards to Leland in 2007. The Bernards have two children and seven grandchildren still residing in Ohio.
Terry McDowell & wife Leslie: The McDowells moved to Wilmington as an advanced party for the “original church planters” in October of 2011. They have served in multiple roles in the church and currently serve in Greeting, Security, Community Groups, Hospitality, Reach Kids, and lead mission trips. Terry spent 26 years in the Army and their family has a passion for the outdoors – hiking the AT, camping, mountain biking, kayaking, you name it. They have been married for 28 years and have three children all currently serving in the military.
Mason Martin & wife Charla: The Martins have been part of the Reach Community Church family since October 2020. Southern California transplants in 2013, and by way of Calvary Chapel Vista, California where Mason and Charla met serving in Children’s Ministry. Mason has served/taught for more than 22 years in a variety of Ministries, including Children’s, Youth, Men’s, Home Groups, Missions, and Outreach. Mason has completed Pastoral Ministry School in 2007 and continues Elder/Pastor training through Reach Community Church. Mason serves at Reach on the Greeting Team, leads a Community Group, assists Greg with Community Group oversight, and Safety Team. Charla serves on the Worship Team, assists in Community Group, and part of Reach Kids Ministry. They love Jesus and want to see the lost saved, prodigals to come home, and those bound to addiction freed by Jesus. Besides spending time reading God’s Word together, and drinking good coffee, Mason participates in F3, and Charla in FiA. They love the beach, surfing, shark teeth hunting, and sea shell hunting. They also love the mountains, hiking/rucking and waterfall chasing. 2 grown children Vanessa and Anthony. 3 fur babies Kona, Aloha, and Spicy.
Russell Daggett & wife Tracy: The Daggetts, a devoted couple, began attending Reach Community Church in 2017, embarking on a remarkable journey of faith. With 17 years of marriage under their belt, they have experienced the joys and challenges of building a strong family foundation. Committed to their community, they have actively participated in the church’s small groups and served in various ministries, sharing their talents and spreading love. Their dedication to serving others has made a lasting impact, inspiring fellow congregants and fostering a sense of unity within Reach Community Church. With three children by their side, Russell and Tracy continue to strengthen their faith while positively influencing those around them.
