Starting Sunday January 5th
Why 21 days? It has been stated, that it takes 21 days, about three weeks, for a person to start a new habit. You can start your 21 days at any time, but you may find it helpful to start on January 5th with the rest of the Reach family.
How should you fast? That is totally up to you. The Bible offers a “Daniel fast” of just vegetables and fruits. You may decide to fast “technology” for the 21 days. You could consider abstaining from just one meal a day. The Bible also suggests true fasting is serving the sick, widowed, or poor. Either way, the idea is to replace an earthly item with a Kingdome item. If you give up TV, replace it with Scripture reading and prayer. If you fast time on your tablet, replace with Bible and prayer time.
What about prayer? Prayer is important during your 21 days. To assist you, below are suggested prayer topics, one for each of the 21 days.
Day 1 – Pray about what does God want to show me at this time of my life?
Day 2 – Expose my idols, then courage to eliminate. What are unhealthy/worldly strongholds I need to come against?
Day 3 – What am I compromising on that comes against God’s will & teaching?
Day 4 – What “walls” am I waiting for to come down? Doing my part? Physical healing for me, and others.
Day 5 – Develop a hunger and thirst (passion) for the Bible, Word of God.
Day 6 – To truly apply what instructions I receive each Sunday service at church.
Day 7 – What are my gifts? To be used for God’s glory, every day of the year.
